My Story

Living on the North Atlantic Coast, near some of Ireland's most stunning beaches, is a true privilege for me. Originally from Galway, I've always found solace and rejuvenation by the sea.

At the age of 15, I left home to attend boarding school in Dublin for two years. After successfully completing my exams, I was thrilled to be accepted into nursing training. Thus began my journey towards fulfilling my dream career.

Following my qualifications, I spent six years working at Our Lady's Hospital For Sick Children in Dublin, where I gained invaluable professional and personal experiences. During this time, I also met and married a church minister, leading to a relocation to Northern Ireland and a new chapter as a wife.

This move northward allowed me to advance my career in Paediatric Nursing within an A&E setting. I thrived in the fast-paced environment and quickly progressed to a role on the nurse management team.

Throughout my 19-year marriage, my husband and I faced numerous challenges, including multiple house moves, job changes, and the emotional strain of undergoing IVF and experiencing miscarriages. Despite the difficulties, the greatest joy of our union was the arrival of our two wonderful boys. However, sadly, our relationship ultimately came to an end over eight years ago.

Since then, I've taken time to heal, reflect, and grow, gradually moving forward to embrace a life that brings me fulfillment, freedom, and joy. Achieving a healthy work-life balance is a priority for me, and I cherish making memories with my boys, family, and friends.

I find joy in activities like open-sea swimming (truthfully splashing!!) , walking along the beautiful beaches in my area, traveling, trying new things, cooking, and honing my photography skills. Embracing life with this newfound flexibility has made my journey feel lighter and easier. I've also learnt how to be more compassionate and forgiving towards myself.

Trusting my instincts has become a guiding principle as I navigate life's twists and turns with optimism and excitement for what lies ahead.
